Understanding Adult Autism & ADHD
If you’ve spent much of your life feeling "out of sync," or if you’ve often felt exhausted simply by the effort of keeping up in a day, you aren’t alone. Sometimes, the world demands we process things in a way that doesn't quite match how our minds naturally work.
If you are exploring the idea of autism or ADHD, or if you are looking for support after a recent discovery about how your brain works, you’re in a safe place. Our sessions are dedicated to helping you move away from self-criticism and toward a life that feels more sustainable, authentic, and compassionate.
Understanding Your Experiences
Many people reach out to me because they are finally starting to connect the dots on experiences that have felt confusing for a long time:
- Everything feels a bit "louder": Finding that certain environments, sounds, or textures drain your energy faster than they seem to for others.
- The "Start-Shift" Struggle: Knowing exactly what you want to do, but feeling a physical or mental barrier when it comes to initiating or switching between tasks.
- Persistent Thoughts: Finding that your mind likes to "hold onto" certain ideas, worries, or decisions long after you’re ready to let them go.
- The Invisible Effort: Feeling the quiet, draining weight of trying to "blend in" or understand social expectations that don't come naturally to you.
How We Can Work Together
My role is not to "fix" who you are, but to support you in navigating the parts of life that feel difficult. We work together as partners to:
- Understand the Context of your experiences so they feel less like personal failures and more like understandable patterns.
- Uncover What You Need by identifying the specific routines, boundaries, and environments that allow you to feel grounded rather than overwhelmed.
- Honor Your Energy by learning how to recognize when you’re nearing burnout and create gentler ways to recover.
- Build Compassion and replace the "Why can't I just...?" internal monologue with a more patient, curious approach to your own needs.

Not everyone who comes to me for neurodiversity counseling has a formal diagnosis of Autism or ADHD. If you identify with the experiences described on this page, or if you’re ready to stop pushing so hard against the current, I’m here to help you find a more helpful, peaceful way forward.
